Hello, there. It's me, Cali. It's been so long since I've last written in this lovely blog, and boy, does it feel good to be back! I miss writing, posting photos, and just feeling involved. This blog has meant so much to me these past two years, and I hope I can continue with it.

As you probably already noticed, this blog is no longer called "Crazy for Cali". I decided to change the name because I have changed and this blog is going to change with me. I hope you enjoy my new-and-improved blog and the new-and-improved me. I haven't changed drastically, but I'm definitely not the same Cali that wrote in this blog five months ago. Not only do I miss writing in here, I also miss reading all of your blogs! I guess I have a whole lot of reading to catch up on this summer, but I am eagerly up for it.

Spelling Bee Results!

The FMSG First Annual Spelling Bee was last night and I WON!!!! Yay! I still can't believe it. Even though Jane got third place (which I thought was still awesome) , she was very happy that I beat Nellie. :)

My winning word was tsunami. Nellie looked like she was walking on lava rocks when I spelled it correct.

My prizes were a first-place ribbon and an AG sticker. I couldn't help but feel a smidge bit sorry for Nellie when she was eying my prizes, longingly at the awards ceremony. That was until she called me a "loser" and stormed off the stage,

dramatically. Then I went back to feeling victorious!

So that was the Spelling Bee! I'm so glad I took the time to study and practice for the Bee. My hard work really did pay off. :)

Anyways, I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend. Only 8-days until Valentine's Day!

The Sisters in Heart Environmental Challenge

On the first day of Christmas...

Okay, it isn't exactly the first day of Christmas, but it is the first day of the week-long Secret Santa gift exchange! :-)Amazingly, I was able to pick out good gifts for Gwen and make her a beautiful card, which I secretively stuck in her locker this morning. The card was made of red construction paper, silver and gold glitter, and Christmas stickers Sunny picked up at Michael's a few days ago. I have a good feeling she liked it!

As for my Secret Santa, I'm pretty sure it's Elizabeth. After all, I could easily see her curly handwriting, even though she was trying desperately to disguise it. The card she made me was really pretty, pink with silver snowflakes painted on the front, and the words "Let It Snow!" seemed to dance across the paper. Even though Elizabeth and I have only known we're twins for a week or so, we seem to know each other like the backs of our hands!

Secret Santa

Hi, everyone, it's me, Cali! I am nearly jumping with joy at this moment because...

our school is doing a "Secret Santa" gift exchange! Tomorrow we'll be drawing names. You have to get little, inexpensive gifts for whoever you draw. Anyways, each day you have to stick a different type of gift in that person's locker, but you can't give any clues to who you may be.

*On Monday you must give your person a homemade Christmas card.

*On Tuesday you must give your person a holiday treat like a gingerbread cookie or a candy cane.

*On Wednesday you must give your person an inexpensive ornament.

*On Thursday you must give your person a little gift of your choice, under $5.

*On Friday, you must give your person a bit more expensive of a gift, such as a scarf or something like that.

I'm really excited to see who I draw. Since Elizabeth, my twin, is visiting us shell also be participating in the exchange. It's going to be so much fun! :-)

My Twin, Elizabeth Currington

Hey, everyone! Right now I am at Elizabeth's school, where I met all of Elizabeth's friends and Sunny's best friend, Maggie. Everybody was very welcoming...well, except Marisol. She reminded me of someone I know... (hint: think Nellie!)

Anyways, you won't believe what I just found out; Elizabeth is my twin!!! We look exactly alike and we both like the same things. She loves acting and is very outgoing, just like me. Can you tell who is who?

Maggie and Sunny decided that Elizabeth could become a traveling doll and visit me for a while. I just know we are going to have a blast together! Sunny will be making an album of Elizabeth's visit on her Picasa soon. It will be great!

On another note, Elizabeth and I played some dress-up with Marisol's boas. She was not very excited about this, though. Here are some pictures of our fun:

P.S.-Elizabeth has an older sister, Mia, so that means I have 2 sisters!!! Maggie & Sunny said that Elizabeth and I were seperated at birth and taken to different homes. :-( Mia was already with Maggie by then. Sorry, I just felt like I needed to mention this.

A Letter From Elizabeth

Thanksgiving is almost here! Yum! I just adore Grandma's cooking. This year we're having Thanksgiving at our house so a lot of preparations are being made. I hope Grandma will let me help make the pumpkin pie!

Anyways, yesterday I got a letter from Sunny's friend, Maggie's doll, Elizabeth. We are going over to Maggie's soon to meet her dolls, but I've never actually met Elizabeth or even spoken to her so the letter was a complete surprise. Here's what the letter said:

Dear Cali,

I am so excited to meet you! I've been reading your blog and I'm really curious to meet you, as well as your other friends. I think you have met Mia St. Clair before, but I think that's it. We go to a school called Parkington Performing Arts Academy, or PPA, a school that focuses on things like dancing, singing, acting, and music. I go there for mainly singing purposes since I one day would like to travel the world on a singing tour! Maggie told me you are into the performing arts, too. That's so cool! I think we'll have a lot in common, Cali. I can't wait to see you. Happy Thanksgiving!

School Elections: UPDATE

I've decided to run for president...okay, more like forced to run. Kirsten has been getting extra bossy lately (I think she's still upset about the whole "archiving" thing) and has been taking her bossy-ness out on all my friends! It's very annoying. SO....Julie, Noelle, Jane, Samantha, Elizabeth, Gwen, and Victoria came to my dorm and practically begged me to run so they don't have to deal with bossy Kirsten 24/7. "I really don't think Kirsten's being mean, she's just trying to be an effective class president," I had said, trying to get out of running.

"I don't think so!" Julie exclaimed. "She yelled at me because I was passing notes to Madi during science. Who does she think she is....Senora Montoya???"

"Don't be so hard on her," I said. "She'll definitely try her best to make FMSG a great place to learn. I mean, the locker clean-up day sounds like a fantastic idea! No way do I have more to offer."

"Come on, Cali," Elizabeth a.k.a Lizzie replied. "You are full of wonderful ideas! Remember that time you wanted to have the entire 6th grade class read to the elementary school once a month? That was a very good idea, right girls?"

My friends nodded.

"We-ell," I sighed. "I guess I'll run. I mean, that was a good idea. And, I do have a lot more up my sleeves! Heck, I even know a good idea for the campaign posters. This could actually be more fun than I thought!"

My friends high-fived me, excitedly and we started working on the posters. Here's my favorite campaign poster:

I think it looks really professional. This presidential thing isn't as bad as I thought! Uh-oh, gotta go! Sunny's taking me to the pumpkin patch now :-) Bye!

Cloud Watching

Hi, everyone! It's Cali! Today Victoria and I went cloud-watching. It's so relaxing, just laying there, watching marshmallow clouds float by, enjoying that crisp, autumn air....

Ahhh...

Sorry we haven't posted in awhile. We were expecting the "surprise" to come today, but it didn't, so when that comes there will be a nice, long post. Victoria and I wish you a great weekend! :-)

Going To My Great Grandparents' House

Last night I went to my great grandmother's house for a sleepover. My great grandmother and grandfather are very nice and good cooks. Before dinner they let Sunny go outside and take pictures of me by the lake. It was so peaceful and serene- for just a few moments I was completely mesmerized by the beauty. I forgot about school. About Nellie. About Madi moving.

 

Then Great Grandma Regina called Sunny and I in for supper. 

We had macaroni and cheese and hotdogs with raspberry juice. I smothered my hotdog in catsup and mustard...yum! 

Then we went into the guest room where we found Jaycee, their cat sleeping. Luckily, we were able to get her to pose for a pic. Isn't she adorable? If Noelle were there she'd have be sneezing like crazy! Noelle's allergic to animal fur so even being in the same room as a cat or dog can make her sneeze and her eyes itch.

 

After dessert and a quick dip in the pool we decided to watch a movie in the living room. Then it was nearly 10 o'clock so Great Grandma Regina went into her bedroom with Great Grandpa Frederick and Sunny and I went back into the bedroom for some good ol' snoozing. This morning we woke up at 8 o'clock and had eggs and bacon. Afterwards we went back into the pool and then waited for Sunny's mom and dad (my grandparents) to pick us up. It was a very fun night and it got my mind off school for a little while anyway. 

Too bad the weekends go by so fast. At this time tomorrow I'll be listening to Senora Montoya talk about the Civil War :-( On a more positive note, next weekend is Labor Day! Hooray!

I'm Back!

Look what Sunny found!

Thanks for all your ideas on what to name the club- they were all real good. As you can see I added a poll for you to vote on. All your ideas (and an idea a friend gave me over the phone) have been added. Thanks ;-)

Oh, I almost forgot pioneerfan04! Oklahoma is a very good musical. Sunny was in the show at her summer drama camp ;-) You should definitely watch it!

Anyways, Sunny has pulled through for us dolls yet again! Yesterday she found something really cool at a used bookstore... an Addy (girl of 1864!) playbook!!! :-D I didn't even know AG made those. I think it must've been old because I know they don't make them currently. Jane and I thought it would be really cool if we could put on this play sometime with our new club so we read over the script this morning. Our other club members were still asleep so we tried not to wake them. Jane and I had fun reading the play.

I think we will tell the others (a.k.a Victoria and Noelle) about the Addy playbook at the next club meeting. That is also when the club name poll closes and we find out our musicals club name!
